Film Chest media group known for saving classics films and TV shows from being lost! Now they bring us their newest release; the 1983 German film Die Flambierte Frau or as Film Chest is releasing it Woman in Flames.

The follows a housewife named Eva who is frustrated with her marriage and decides to leaves her husband for a life of prostitution. In the beginning, she keeps he values, but before long she finds her self deeper and deeper into the world of sado-masochism. The film was selected as the West German entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 56th Academy Awards, but was not accepted as a nominee.

I have to be honest I am not a huge fan of foreign films and this film just didn’t keep my interest! But I know there are many foreign film lovers and those ones will love this film! The film is presented in it’s original German with English subtitles. The quality is not pristine but it is nice. The picture is cropped slightly to be presented in full-screen, but you don’t miss that much with this crop. As far as bonus features sadly there is none.

So if you love foreign films! I suggest you head over to www.FilmChest.com or your local DVD provider and find out how you can get a copy today.
