Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings (2011) – By Brian Morton

Who among us doesn’t love inbred, cannibal hillbillies? That’s right! No One! Well, if you loved the first 3 Wrong Turn movies as much as I did, then you’re going to love 20th Century Fox for finally giving us a prequel to the franchise! It’s called Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings and in it we’re finally going to learn where our buddies, Three Finger, Saw Tooth and One Eye, came from.

The story here stays pretty true to the rest of the franchise. A group of horny twenty-somethings wander off a snow-mobile trail and wind up at an abandoned asylum…and, guess what happens? That’s right, our ‘heroes’ show up and begin killing them off one by one. The real difference here is that we get some back story on our flesh hungry friends and finally understand why they are what they are.

While Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings isn’t breaking any new horror ground, it’s stays true to the rest of the franchise, while adding a bit of depth to three characters who’s main purpose on screen is to grunt and dish out brutal violence. And, if you like the brutal violence, then you’re gonna love this movie, it’s graphic, it’s bloody and it’ll have you cringing more than once…and it leaves us with a nice ending, leaving the snow-mobile path open for more visits with our three meat eating monsters.

I’m giving Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings 4 out of 4 cigars, it’s everything you’d expect in a prequel and much, much more. Get your fill of human flesh eaters by heading over to http://www.foxconnect.com and rip a piece off for yourself!
