The coolest of movie monsters used to be vampire it seems now the zombie has replaced the vampire. Now Mill Creek Entertainment has packaged together just in time for Halloween a 12 movie set of zombie goodness that is sure to satisfy your need for gut-wrenching gore, spine-tingling terror and stomach-squirming screams. Now lets take an in depth look at the 12 movie collection.

Disc 1:

Carnival of Souls (1962) After a car accident Mary Henry begins having nightmares! Little does she know her answer lies in an otherworldly carnival. ***

Dead Men Walk (1943) Dr. Lloyd Clayton murders his twin brother, a diabolical sorcerer named Elwyn in self-defense. The only problem is Elwyn isn’t ready for the hereafter just yet. **

Horror of the Zombies (1974) A group are searching for missing women and when they search a fog-enshrouded ship. Aboard the ship they encounter the undead. **

House of the Living Dead (1973) A maniac is loose on a South African plantation, first killing the estate’s animals, then starting on the human members. **

Disk 2:

King of the Zombies (1941) When two special agents are sent to find a missing admiral in the Caribbean, the two find themselves surrounded by voodoo-practicing zombies. **

The Last Man on Earth (1960) Dr. Robert Morgan (Vincent Price) is the sole survivor of a lethal virus that transforms all other humans into vampire-like zombies. ****

Mutant (1984) Toxic waste has turned the townspeople into mutant zombies. There is nowhere to run as the growing army of blood-thirsty ghouls take over the town. **

Night of the Living Dead (1968) Zombies begin terrorizing a small town in Pennsylvania. A small group of people fight off the zombies in a remote farmhouse. ****

Disk 3:

Oasis of the Zombies (1981) Fifty years after World War II, the son of an Allied forces survivor goes on a historic adventure only to discover horrifying Nazi zombies. **

The Snake People (1968) Evil scientist runs a veritable army of LSD crazed zombies. Stars the great Boris Karloff. **

Teenage Zombies (1959) A crazed female scientist uses nerve gas to turn local teenagers into her zombie slaves. *

White Zombie (1932) A young man turns to a witch doctor to lure the woman he loves away from her fiancé, but instead turns her into a zombie slave. ***

In the final analysis all 12 films are not winners, but you will find great enjoyment out of this collection. While the video quality is not pristine, it‘s not bad, especially when you realize that the oldest film is over 80 years old.

I love Mill Creek’s box collections! You get so much entertainment for your money. I own several myself. Where are you going to get 12 films for under ten bucks.
